We Specialize in Five Conditions

ADHD · Anxiety · Autism Spectrum Disorder · Picky Eating · Tic Disorders

Our Care Model

Behavioral Pediatrics of Rural Georgia is the only practice of its kind in the United States. We provide comprehensive evaluation and long-term management for children with ADHD, anxiety, autism, picky eating, and tic disorders.

Our physicians and PAs provide medical evaluation, diagnosis, and management. Parent coaching is woven into every appointment because we believe families need real tools, not just a prescription. For established patients who can access our Statesboro location, counseling and ABA therapy are available through our in-house team. For families living further away, our clinical team coordinates with providers in your community.

Conditions We Treat

ADHD

Many patients come to us with suspected or diagnosed attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. If your child’s ADHD is poorly controlled, they may have an additional diagnosis or another cause for their inattention or hyperactivity. We evaluate carefully before concluding a child has ADHD. We manage ADHD with a full range of options, not just medication.

Anxiety

Childhood anxiety can present as school refusal, speech refusal, meltdowns, avoidance, physical complaints, and behaviors that look like defiance. Anxiety can co-occur with autism and ADHD, making management of both conditions more complex.

Autism

Many of our patients have autism — including many whose families, pediatricians and teachers did not recognize it. We specialize in identifying autism across the full spectrum. Every person with autism is unique. ABA therapy is appropriate for some children while parent coaching is sufficient for others. Understanding what is a skills deficit and what behaviors are a choice is a game-changer.

Picky Eating

Many of our patients are picky eaters and some have Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. Children with ARFID may eat only a handful of foods, face significant nutritional risks, and experience profound anxiety around eating. We use parent coaching and collaboration with occupational and/or ABA therapists to address picky eating and ARFID.

Tic Disorders

Tics are involuntary movements or sounds. They can be transient or long-standing. We help families differentiate tics from the repetitive movements or speech often seen in children with autism. We treat tic disorders, including Tourette Disorder.
